About Radio FM 90s

BeatScratch is a new type of musical instrument designed to make composing sophisticated harmonies in many genres geometric and intuitive. With just the phone in your hand, take control of 5 (buy Pro for 8) looping instruments that intelligently adapt to your song's chord progression, and play 3 of them with intuitive motion and touch controls that allow for expressive live playback. Use your phone's 128 available ringtone effects, or plug into any standard USB MIDI synthesizer (for instance, MainStage) to access multitudes of professional effects.

BeatScratch is best understood live. Visit the site to watch our short introductory videos or simply open up the app and start pressing stuff, paying attention to the colors, and listening to the sounds you make.

For the best experience, hook up your headphones, keyboard amp, or most MIDI keyboards/synthesizers with a USB-B to USB-C cable! We don't recommend Bluetooth headphones as their latency makes the live playback features not very fun, but you can certainly compose music without using the live playback features.

What's New in this version

- Added multistaff rendering: in View Mode, tap the View Mode button again to select a solo part and enable/disable accompaniment and drum staves

- Disabling all staves in View Mode shows a zoomable chord chart of the entire piece

- Edit Mode now moves the part being edited to the top staff and manages displaying drums and accompaniments automatically

- Diminished 7 chords are now named as such, as are notes in notation mode, making notation more readable.

- UX improvements
