afé Tacvba, también conocido como Café Tacuba, es un conjunto de rock alternativo, originario de Ciudad Satélite del Área Metropolitana de la Ciudad de México. El grupo se conformó en 1989. Desde entonces han sido ganadores del Grammy y el Grammy Latino y se considera una de las mejores bandas de rock de Hispanoamérica. El grupo es conformado por Rubén Isaac Albarrán Ortega (voz principal y guitarra rítmica), Emmanuel del Real Díaz (teclados y coros), José Alfredo Rangel Arroyo (guitarra) y Enrique Rangel Arroyo (bajo y contrabajo). Si bien el cantante principal es Rubén, los cuatro integrantes de la banda han prestado su voz a las producciones.

En sus inicios se llamaron Alicia Ya No Vive Aquí (en tributo al director Martin Scorsese por la película del mismo nombre). La mayoría de las producciones realizadas por la banda en esa época fueron influenciadas por música anglosajona, al estilo de The Cure y Def Leppard. Posteriormente, tomaron su nombre de un conocido café del Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México, Café de Tacuba, llamado así por su ubicación en la calle del mismo nombre. Previendo disputas legales con el restaurante, el grupo eligió emplear una grafía de tipo antiguo, reemplazando la u por v, creando así su peculiar y famosa forma de escribirse.

Café Tacvba recibió el premio Leyenda MTV por su trayectoria, a manos de Steven Patrick Morrissey, quien aseguró que eran músicos extraordinarios.
