About Radio FM 90s
In this tutorial, we first define what we mean by area, and then we calculate the area under a curve by first approximating the area with rectangles and then making the width of the rectangles approach zero.
In the late 1600s, mathematicians discovered a much easier way to calculate the area under a curve, called The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. This discovery started with the calculation of the slope of a tangent.
In the second part of this tutorial, we define the slope of the tangent to a curve, and we look at the connection between areas and tangents.
* Aimed at students in their final two years of high school.
* Studying mathematics is best done by working through examples and exercises. There are many interactive examples and exercises in this tutorial that must be completed to achieve 100% progress.
* Written by a Maths teacher with 20 years of teaching experience.
* Completely free (no Ads).
* Works without internet so that you can learn while travelling in the train, bus etc. Internet only required for links to privacy policy and other tutorials.
* Made with GameMaker (www.yoyogames.com)
* Only a 14 MB download.
Also available on Google Play:
