About Radio FM 90s

Interested in embroidery? If yes, one of the types of stitches you need to learn is a cross. It is an ancient cross-cultural embroidering technique also known as counted cross-stitch or calculated cross. The pictures below will show you how to work on a plastic canvas with threads to help you familiarize yourself with the technique.
Choose a cloth. Although crosslinking refers to how to create embroidered patterns, rather than certain fabrics, there is a cloth often used for cross stitches, the fabric known as Aida (strimin). This material has a grid or boxes that are rarely / far away so doing the cross stitching becomes easy. Aida fabric is available in several sizes that refer to the number of cross stitches that can be made in size of 6.25 cm2. The options are usually between 11, 14, 18, and 28.

1.Start embroidering with Aida 11 or 14 puncture cloth is easiest to do because of the larger space size to make a cross stitch. The more the number of sticks, the smaller the size of the stitch. If you do not want to use Aida cloth for cross stitches, another popular choice is linen or fiddler fabrics. However, both of these fabrics do not have enough space such as Aida cloth for novice embroider.

2. Select the thread. Crossword is a fun embroidery activity because it offers the freedom for the embroiderer, especially in the choice of yarn color. Embroidery is usually used for sewing cross stitches and is available in hundreds of colors. Each "strand" of embroidery consists of 6 strands of yarn, but only 1-3 strands are used to once embroider the cross stitch. Embroidery is available in non-glossy colors , Colorful, and metallic. The last two types of yarn are harder to use and they are several times more expensive than the shiny type of yarns. If it's hard to embroider a thread with a yarn, you can use a waxy yarn or use a bit of beeswax to coat the yarn before embroidering. The wax layer will make it easier for you to insert the thread into the needle and conclude it at the end of the stitch.

3. Select a pattern. Embroidering the cross stitch is as simple as adjusting a pattern on the boxes in the fabric. Choose a pattern from a book or the internet, and collect the embroidery with colors according to the pattern. As a beginner, you should probably start with a simple cross-stitch. Look for small patterns that do not have too much detail and only use 3-7 colors. If you do not like existing patterns, you may use homemade patterns using the images you choose with a computer program, or plaid paper.

4. Use the embroidery ring (ram). Ram is a double ring made of plastic, metal, or wood, to secure the cross stitching position when embroidering. Although you can embroider without this tool, ram will be very helpful, and the price is also not expensive. Using a small ram is easier to keep the cloth motionless, but it must be moved frequently. Meanwhile, bigger ram is not too strong to grasp the cloth but does not need to be moved too often.
