Diamond weight calculator calculates carat weight of diamond or gemstone base on Diameter, Crown height, Pavilion depth, Girdle width, Table and angles. You can change values by scrolling their sliders. You will see immediate measurements of caret weight on screen.

General terminology used in the application are as below.

Diamond considered as a polished diamond with Round brilliant cut only. Fancy shapes like Oval, Marquess, Heart, Pear, Princess, Rectangle etc will not show accurate weight in this version.

Carat is the measurement unit of Gemstones and Diamond's weight. One caret is one fifth of gram or 1 Crt = 200 mg. Approx 6.5 mm diameter of round diamond will result in one carat. The price of diamond is heavily dependent on weight of Diamond.

Diameter is the width of the diamond on top view. For fancy shape length is also considered as parameter. And division of both is known as Ratio of diamond. For Round brilliant diamond ratio is one. Diameter and ratio plays a vital role in weight of diamond.

Crown is the upper part of diamond. Crown height refers to height from upper girdle width to table. Crown Angle is angle between upper girdle to table in crown.

Table is top flat part of the diamond and generally parallel to girdle. Table diameter is the diameter of the table in percentage of girdle diameter.

Girdle is center part of diamond. Girdle width is the width of the girdle. It is the third parameter after diameter and ratio which affects the weight most.

Pavilion is the lower part of diamond. Pavilion height is the height from girdle to tick and pavilion angle is the angle between them.

Tick is center point where pavilion ends.

All parameter except diameter is displayed in percentage of diameter while diameter is in mm.
