About Radio FM 90s

This audio driving tour of Lisburn will take you through some well known points of interest...as well as some more obscure places. The tour starts off in the city of Lisburn, then takes you to the townland of Lisnastrean and the site of one of the bloodiest battles ever fought in Irish soil. There are fascinating churches and intriguing graveyards to explore at Drumbo, Drumbeg and Dunmurry, then it’s on to Lambeg and Hilden to hear about the Ulster-Scots contribution to the linen industry. You final point will be the Irish Linen Centre in Lisburn.

You may decide to stop off and explore all of these locations, in which case the tour may take most of a day – just depending on how long you spend at each location. Or you might decide to plan your own route around the sites that interest you most.

Each point is clearly numbered on your map and don’t forget to select the directory function on the map as well. These are on the left of the screen and can be selected or de-selected as you choose more information about the area.

You’ll see some well-known sights, as well as some less well known, and you’ll hear about the rich Ulster Scots heritage of Lisburn. And like all the best things in life, some of our destinations require a little time and effort to reach. So be prepared for the weather - and wear a good pair of comfortable shoes. And remember, as you enjoy this scenic route, take care whilst driving.
Plan your route to the next destination before setting off as it is important that you don’t become distracted. Some of the country roads are quite narrow and a little twisty. And there may be a tractor...or a cow, just around the corner.
