故事簡介
這個世界除了我們所居住的人界，原來還有由天上的仙界、海中的海界、地下的妖界、魔界和鬼界。
除了人界以外，其餘都被統稱為靈界。因為人界，本身就是靈界罪犯的流放地。

後傳故事大綱︰
　　故事發生於《靈界物語》正傳的五年後。因為劉冕和三巨頭的叛變，人界靈力者幾近全部被消滅。除了因為這此事件而元氣大傷的地三界，仙界的仙君出走與及海界因為耗費大量軍力出兵地三界，也導致靈界元氣大傷。
　　靈界各地在這五年積極重整秩序，需要大量的靈力者，因此將犯罪的靈力者流放到人界的計劃也因此被擱置達五年之鉅。而人界也因為「紐約事變」而開始加深了對靈界的認識，並開始對靈界將罪犯流放到人界的做法表示反感。
　　為了控制靈界生物在人界的秩序，與及填補靈力者被消滅而對靈界執法單位造成的空缺，人類選擇採用科技替代傳統的「氣」戰鬥。並且將包括梁山和S.R.F.在內所有的靈力者組織強制解散，統一組織為直接受命於聯合國的法定組織–S.A.D.(Soul Arrester Department)，並委託龍宮集團為S.A.D.製造靈界兵器。而故事亦由此開始。
