臺大醫院北護分院前身為「台灣省立台北高級醫事職業學校附設婦幼衛生中心」，創設於1949年，在地服務已超過60年。隨學校數度升格改制，醫院名稱亦隨之更改，於2004年8月1日正式整併為臺大醫療體系之一員，以建構「老年醫學暨長期照護的整合型中心」為發展重心，並提供社區民眾優質的健康服務為願景。

北護分院除了口碑卓著的護理之家及居家護理業務外，並積極與政府部門合作參與長期照護制度規劃，及發展各類社區機構之老人健康服務。本院以台大醫療體系專精之各科門診、復健治療及洗腎業務等，提供社區民眾需要的優質醫療服務；並用心規劃設置老年人多重慢性疾病之周全評估及整合性門診，為國內老年醫療照護開啟先河。住院病房則落實以老年病人與家屬為核心的全人化照護。本院企圖建構以個案為中心、家庭為單位、社區為照護基礎，並強調「在地老化」之老年醫療照護模式。 National Taiwan University Hospital, formerly known as the North Branch of care "Taiwan Provincial Taipei senior medical vocational schools include maternal and child health centers," Established in 1949, the ground services for over 60 years.
