Tours is a university town between France's Cher and Loire rivers. Once a Gallic-Roman settlement, today it's a university town and a traditional gateway for exploring the chateaux of the Loire Valley region. Tours is a city in the west of France. Tours stands on the lower reaches of the Loire river, between Orléans and the Atlantic coast. The historical center of Tours (Also called "Le vieux Tours") is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city is also the end-point of the annual Paris–Tours cycle race.
