Because you want to be our fans and support us, we are more than happy to share with you our Labs ideas (without 1 star blame ;)

Labs allows you to try out experimental new features in House of Cards, so keep the following things in mind:

The features may not reaching their prime time yet.
Similarly, they may disappear temporarily or permanently.
They may work so well that they graduate and become regular features.

They are not rocket sciences but for anyone willing to read directions and following instructions.


This app unlocks Labs features in House of Cards. You must have the latest version of House of Cards (free) installed on your device. This app just acts as a license key to unlock the Labs features.

After installing this app, please go to Configure > House of Cards for Fans, then tap the button at the right-top corner to enable and you can start trying out all the Labs features.

» User Guide for Non-default home screen

Although House of Cards is designed to replace your home screen completely, it may still the case that you cannot forgo your stock home screen yet for some unique functions or widgets or simply you are learning the way of House of Cards.

You can try out House of Cards without replacing your default home screen. The only downside is it may be killed by the system in low memory.

We provide "Keep in memory" as a Lab feature that prevents House of Cards from been killed.

This will introduce a sticky notification in the tray which may be annoy from a user's perception.

But we tried to make it more useful by providing additional buttons such as Recent tasks and Home.

A constrain imposed by Android system is that there will be a 5-sec-delay penalty for a launcher hovering over default home screen.

So we decide to NOT launch any activity in this situation and show a warning message if House of Cards is not the default home screen.

Instead, simply place a shortcut of House of Cards into the Favorites Tray or hotseat of your stock home screen to help you going back to House of Cards easily. Alternatively, press the home button in the sticky notification to go back to House of Cards.

As you become more and more familiar with House of Cards, you can go to the Advanced settings to select House of Cards as your default home screen.
