******************** THE ORIGIN & HISTORY ********************

Latin rock (or rock en Español) is rock music in Spanish language. Although the term is used in English, it's utilized in Spanish chiefly to differentiate such music from "Anglo rock". It is a rock music style that is created in Spain, Latin American nations and Latino groups, alongside different musical classifications like reggae, Caribbean ska, and soca. Popular musical artists and groups playing Latin rock music are regularly noted for being "hybrid" or “crossover” musicians, as the genre naturally connects both cultural and linguistic limits.

Regional Latin rock music scenes emerged in the period between the latter part of the 1950s and the 1970s. Musicians like Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Bill Haley made rockabilly famous in the United States. Latin rock bands appeared during this time as well, and include Peruvian acts like Los Millonarios del Jazz, Los Incas Modernos Los Zodiacs, Los Stars, and Conjunto Astoria. California-raised Ritchie Valens’s cover of the Mexican folk song "La Bamba" has helped popularize Spanish-language rock music throughout Latin America in 1958. During the same year, Daniel Flores (called the "Godfather of Latin Rock") played his hit song "Tequila" in the United States.
