About Radio FM 90s

Kyokushin kaikan (極 真 会館?) Is a flow of karate founded by Masutatsu Oyama (大 山 倍 達 Ōyama Masutatsu?). This stream emphasizes physical exercise and full-contact kumite, ie sparring (sparring) without a protector. Kyokushin has the highest meaning of truth, which is believed by Mas Oyama as karate it should be taught and studied. The Kyokushin curriculum emphasizes realistic combat and physical strength.

The Kyokushin exercise consists of three main elements called 3K: kihon (technique), kata, and kumite (practice match).

Kihon
Kihon means basic techniques or movements. The kyokusin training system is based on traditional karate like Shotokan and Goju-ryu with some additional techniques adapted from other martial arts such as boxing and kickboxing when kumite. Kyokushin also has many original techniques not encountered in other karate streams.

Word
Words are a combination of repeatedly trained movements. It is hoped that with the practice, karateka can reflex out a combination in the fight.

Kumite
Kumite (sparring) is used to train the application of various movements in real battle situations. Kumite is an important part of Kyokushin practice, especially for those who are already high-rise.

In kyokushin, both the builder and the citizen (disciple) must do the kumite aloud so that they are ready to face the real fight. Unlike other types of karate in general, Kyokushin emphasizes the importance of full contact practice, without the use of gloves, body armor, or head protection (except for male genitalia). Some universities require the use of protective equipment for citizens who are still young (small).

In the past, kumite in Kyokushin was really made to resemble a real fight, the attack to the head can be done either with a punch or a kick. But it turns out that many students injured, caused mainly due to the permissibility of a blow to the head. Finally now both on the kumite and the championship, a blow to the face is forbidden, but kicks and knee attacks to the head and neck are still allowed.
